Meet: Rach Charboneau, Give Lively Director of Growth Marketing

From time to time, we will profile members of the Give Lively team, revealing more about who we are, what we do, and how we fit into a mix of dedicated and dynamic engineers, creatives, strategists, and advocates helping nonprofits do more with digital fundraising tools.
Like the focus of this week’s profile, the full Give Lively team is passionate about using tech for social good and providing a better fundraising experience to nonprofits and donors.
Rach Charboneau
What do you do at Give Lively?
I lead marketing and business development, so I’m focused on both how we grow and how we build meaningful relationships with the nonprofits we serve.
On the marketing side, I oversee our go-to-market strategy, positioning, campaigns and overall brand presence. On the business development side, I think about partnerships, new opportunities and how we expand our reach in a way that adds value.
A big part of my role is connecting the dots across teams, making sure marketing, product and customer experience are aligned so we’re not just driving awareness, but creating a really strong, cohesive experience for nonprofits from first touch through adoption.
What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?
No two days look exactly the same, which I genuinely love.
Some days I’m focused on higher-level strategy, mapping out campaigns, refining messaging or thinking through growth opportunities and partnerships. Other days I’m more in execution mode, writing, reviewing creative, building out campaigns or digging into performance to understand what’s working and what’s not.
I also spend a lot of time collaborating across teams. Whether it’s launching something new, improving the customer journey or supporting a partner initiative, there’s a lot of cross-functional work to make sure everything feels aligned and intentional.
We’re fully remote, so staying connected is a priority. We spend a lot of time on calls and in working sessions, building relationships and moving things forward together.
What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?
I'm a mom first, so a big chunk of my non-work life revolves around my daughter: planning things to do together, getting outside, staying involved in her school and extracurriculars, and keeping up with her energy! My favorite role in life, hands down.
Beyond that, I'm drawn to anything creative. Event planning, home design, trying a random new craft, making content, writing music. I tend to follow inspiration wherever it leads and try things without needing a plan. I also love to travel and explore, whether that's finding a new trail or wandering through a museum or exhibit I've been meaning to check out.
What excites you about Give Lively?
Honestly, it's the combination of impact and intention, and the fact that those two things aren't in tension here.
We're giving nonprofits powerful fundraising tools for free, which removes a real barrier. But it's not just about the product. There's a genuine focus on how we show up: being thoughtful, accessible and helpful to the organizations we serve.
From a marketing and business development perspective, that makes this a really interesting space to work in. We're building trust with organizations doing important work, which means everything we put out has to be clear, honest and values-driven. That's a high bar and I find it energizing, not limiting.
And the team is a big part of it. There's real ownership here, real collaboration and a lot of creative energy. It doesn't feel like a place where you're just executing someone else's vision. There is collective care about the work we are doing and our why for doing it.
