We support Pride, but we know that it doesn’t end on July 1st. We’re proud to share just a few of the incredible organizations supporting the LGBTQ+ community all year round.

Lambda Literary

Tracing its beginnings to 1987, this organization nurtures and advocates for LGBTQ writers, elevating the impact of their words to create community, preserve their legacies and affirms the value of their stories and lives. Its programs for LGBTQ writers include the yearly Lambda Literary Awards, writers retreats and the LGBTQ Writers in School program, through which LGBTQ writers visit K-12 classrooms to discuss LGBTQ literature with young people.

Drag Story Hour

Drag Story Hour celebrates reading through the glamorous art of drag. Its chapter network creates diverse, accessible and culturally-inclusive family programming where kids can express their authentic selves and become bright lights of change in their communities. It used a Give Lively-powered Campaign Page to raise over $30,000 for their 2022 year-end fundraiser.

Its mission is to empower its community by creating a brave and accountable space in Portland, Oregon, to expand musical skills, develop a sense of identity and center voices in song.
