Meet: Kelsey Marshall, Give Lively Senior Vice President of Customer Experience

From time to time, we will profile members of the Give Lively team, revealing more about who we are, what we do, and how we fit into a mix of dedicated and dynamic engineers, creatives, strategists, and advocates helping nonprofits do more with digital fundraising tools.
Like the focus of this week’s profile, the full Give Lively team is passionate about using tech for social good and providing a better fundraising experience to nonprofits and donors.

What do you do at Give Lively?
I’m the senior vice president of customer experience! The customer experience team at Give Lively interacts with our members at all stages of their journey with Give Lively, helping them maximize their use of the platform and answering any questions they might have along the way. I manage our account managers, solutions architect, technical solutions specialist and our customer support manager, who leads our core customer support team. I’m also a member of our leadership team, so I work with other department heads to guide Give Lively’s strategy and goals.
What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?
A typical day for me at Give Lively usually involves meeting with my team leads to talk about their projects and where I can unblock their work. I’m also accountable for a few of our company-wide objectives, so I make sure our project updates are ready each week. I keep an eye on how we’re doing on meeting our service goals for the day and check in with my customer support manager about daily trends that can be shared with the wider company, especially the product and engineering teams. Sometimes, I’ll meet with the other department heads or our larger leadership team to discuss higher-level business decisions. Mostly, I try to keep in touch with how our member nonprofits are doing, what they’re saying and how my team can best serve them!
What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?
Outside of Give Lively, I volunteer on the Board of Directors for my small community playhouse in Fort Mill, South Carolina. I’m an avid reader (I already hit my reading goal for the year – 35 books!) and I love to hike on my local greenway with my parents. I’m also currently working on my Master’s degree in Fine Arts! At the end of the day, I love sitting on the couch with my two cats, watching a movie.
What excites you about Give Lively?
The most exciting thing about Give Lively and working here is the values we uphold and how seriously we take our work. We serve the nonprofit community and in my role, I’m very lucky to see our members find success every day in their fundraising efforts. It makes me feel very connected to my work and the work of Give Lively as a whole, and helps me know that what we do here has a real impact on real communities and the problems they are trying to solve. It’s exciting to have a job that can make that difference!
