From time to time, we will profile members of the Give Lively team, revealing more about who we are, what we do, and how we fit into a mix of dedicated and dynamic engineers, creatives, strategists, and advocates helping nonprofits do more with digital fundraising tools.

Like the focus of this week’s profile, the full Give Lively team is passionate about using tech for social good and providing a better fundraising experience to nonprofits and donors.

What do you do at Give Lively?

I write code! And I talk to people about code that needs to be written and what code we can avoid writing.

What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?

When I start in the morning, I generally have something I’ve been thinking about and spend a little time on it first thing. For instance, I recently tried out a new AI agent skill and, after sleeping on it, had some feedback to share.

Then I catch up on what’s happened. I’m in San Francisco and most of the team is on the East Coast so often a lot has transpired by the time I start work.

The rest of the day I write code (currently primarily via Claude Code), review other people’s code and meet with people from the product and the engineering teams to talk about functionality we’re working on.

What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?

I like to ride bicycles, particularly off-road with my partner. There are so many amazing dirt trails we can reach by bike from our house – and even more with an assist from public transportation.

I have a 2-year-old who really likes trains. So I ride trains with him and play Brio trains with him and also take him on buses (which are almost as cool as trains). I also ride bikes with him.

What excites you about Give Lively?

Many of the most efficient nonprofits are very small – sometimes made up of just volunteers. Smaller organizations don’t have full-time staff to handle complicated tools. I think Give Lively strikes a great balance between being powerful but also simple to use – and it has fantastic humans providing support. I really enjoy hearing about the good work done by nonprofits that are using the platform.

Also, the team is incredibly good natured and earnest and it’s a pleasure to work with them.
