How it works
Save money on fees with Shift4
Get the most competitive processing fees – 1.99% + $0.25 for major credit cards and 3.4% for American Express. At first, Shift4 will be available for one-time card payments, with recurring payments and more payment methods to be added.
Fee rebate available for limited time
Shift4 will rebate the transaction fees it processes for your nonprofit during the period starting when you sign up (no later than June 20) through December 31, 2025.
No extra setup or monthly fees
Give Lively and Shift4 have no setup fees, no monthly fees and zero hidden charges. Just some of the lowest payment processing fees available.
If your organization used Give Lively + Shift4 to raise $1 million during the exclusive incentive period, you would save more than $19,000 in processing fees. After the incentive ends, you’ll continue to save with Shift4’s lowest rates.
How to get started
Fill out the Shift4 application form
Log in to the Give Lively Nonprofit Admin Portal, navigate to “Settings,” then “Payment Processing” and click on “Apply to Shift4”. The form requests your business information and details about your financial controller. If you do not see the "Apply to Shift4" button, contact us.
Wait for review and approval
The Shift4 team will review your application within 48 business hours. Give Lively will send you word of your approval or, if there is a hold, additional actions that may be required.
Access the Shift4 Dashboard
Once approved, you will receive an invitation to the Shift4 Dashboard, where you can welcome additional users and manage payments, including refunds, chargebacks/disputes and payouts.
Switch your payment processor to Shift4
Within the Nonprofit Admin Portal, back on the "Payment Processing" page, you can switch your payment processor to Shift4 for one-time card donations.
