Meet: Jonathan Lin, Give Lively Technical Solutions Architect

From time to time we will profile members of the Give Lively team, revealing more about who we are, what we do and how we fit into a mix of dedicated and dynamic engineers, creatives, strategists and advocates helping nonprofits do more with digital fundraising tools.
Like the focus of this week’s profile, the full Give Lively team is passionate about using tech for social good and providing a better fundraising experience to nonprofits and donors.
Jonathan Lin
What do you do at Give Lively?
I have a hybrid role that blends product development, customer support and internal administration. On the product side, I’m the point person for integrations; I help guide the development of ongoing work on Salesforce and Zapier. These days, Jada Moore is the expert on Salesforce support, but I sometimes assist when unusual questions come up. As for internal administration, I work closely with the customer support and marketing teams on the tech tools they use.
What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?
It can vary quite a bit! Some days are filled with meetings where I coordinate with product development and design teams to plan work for our engineering team. If a given item is further along, I might work directly with our engineers to iron out details or help resolve any issues. Other days, I’ll be deep into investigating a bug with Jada, or perhaps teaming up with marketing to put together the tech behind a multi-step messaging campaign.
What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?
Raising my 9-year-old daughter Jane is my highest calling, for sure. She’s brilliant, independent, creative and just a lot of fun to be around. We spend a lot of time messing with each other when she’s not in school. Outside of that, I enjoy sardonic political commentary with friends, amateur woodworking, less-than-amateur guitar playing, reading, screens and, most recently, rollerskating. Ask me about rollerskating.
What excites you about Give Lively?
It’s difficult to pick just one thing, so I won’t. I love the people at Give Lively for their capability, their kindness and their professionalism. Equally, I love the company for its mission, its progressive values and its culture of collaboration. Just as much, I love our kinship with the nonprofit community. I’ve had several customer-facing roles before, and I’ve never experienced such a positive dynamic. I feel incredibly lucky to have my efforts contribute to such a wealth of beneficial causes.
