We recommend taking the steps below before or immediately after setting up Give Lively's Salesforce integration, but only if your organization is using Salesforce validation rules.

Walkthrough

When active, Salesforce validation rules can inadvertently block Give Lively’s ability to sync donations and contacts. Learn how to modify validation rules to exempt the Give Lively syncing process.

Text Walkthrough

  • Log in to your Salesforce org as a system administrator.
  • Open Setup and click the "Object Manager" tab.
  • Scroll or search by name for the relevant object, then click the object name.
  • Click on “Validation Rules” in the sidebar
  • Click on the name of the validation rule interfering with Give Lively syncing.
  • Edit the Error Condition Formula to prepend the following criterion:
    NOT(ISPICKVAL(Leadsource,"Give Lively"))
    &&
  • Use the Check Syntax button to verify the formula still works.
  • Save changes.

Please note: the above prepend value will work for Contact and Opportunity validation rules. For campaigns, use “ISBLANK(give_lively__Campaign_Id__c) &&”
